What is on record
The optional rift boss of Weeping Creek Valley that starts the tale Triple Threat: a white-haired, long-sworded puppet that vanishes into portals and re-emerges with swings, overhead slashes or a kick depending on the portal. Drops the Three-Headed Doll. Its identity is learned much later, as Yucong, No. 34 Twisted Puppet.
What it is
The Aberrant Three-Faced Puppet is an optional boss inside the Sha-Chi Rift beside the Lady's Rift bell in Weeping Creek Valley (Game8, Fextralife, TreyexGaming). Entering the rift starts the tale Triple Threat whether you win or not; KeenGamer calls it too tanky for a first visit and says to return later, and Game8 says to reach the Village of Lu first for a better loadout, then come back with level 15 gear, a fast weapon such as the Fiend Saws and Sha-Chi medicine. ActuGaming calls the fight long but simple, with fixed patterns that are easy to parry. The tale stays open until the puppet's identity is learned in the last region: it is Yucong, No. 34 Twisted Puppet, fought again in the snowed-over Mirrorwood. The reward here is the Three-Headed Doll.
What the footage shows
PowerPyx's capture (Oct 30, 2026) opens on the Weeping Creek Valley map at the Lady's Rift, 94% complete, with the tale prompt "Triple Threat: Learn more about the Three Faced Puppet". At 0:10 Soul walks into a golden rift; at 0:15 the arena is a temple plaza of green-grey flagstones with a round carved floor, stone stairs and red lanterns at the far end. The name bar "Aberrant Three-Faced Puppet" is on screen from 0:30 to about 2:15. The puppet has long white hair, a straight sword and layered red and blue skirts; at 0:40 it whips a chain across the plaza, at 1:05 it raises the sword overhead, at 1:30 lightning flashes around it, at 2:00 a pale swirl of mist crosses the floor, and at 2:10 the camera closes on its skirts as it falls. At 2:15 the Three-Headed Doll is picked up: "A strange cloth doll small enough to rest in one palm, with three little heads lined up atop its rounded body. The leftmost sleeps with its eyes closed; the right draws in on itself, uneasy and timid. The middle alone holds its chin slightly raised, its gaze piercing." At 2:25 Soul says, "What kind of creation was it? Perhaps one day I'll uncover the truth.", and at 2:30 the tale objective changes to "Learn the Three Faced Puppet's identity to strike it down".
Attacks and how the guides handle them
Game8 keys its advice to the portals the puppet comes out of: from the left portal it emerges with a horizontal swing, from the middle with an overhead slash, both met with a delayed block; from the right it kicks on exit, so block at once. At half health it adds a Killer Move that can only be dodged: two quick upward slashes, two delayed slashes with a Sha-Chi drain on the second, and an overhead finisher; when it rushes with several forward slashes, dodge as soon as it jumps to trigger Ghoststep.
Fextralife names the Reality Rift (a quick slash, a jump back into a rift, then a leaping slash out of a rift in front of you; step forward past the rift and counter) and the Reverse Slash Combo (two reverse slashes with a slow wind-up; block or parry). It calls the puppet highly mobile and the rift attack predictable.
Drops
The Three-Headed Doll, a story item (KeenGamer, Game8; on-screen pickup). Freezing Chaos, the weapon tied to this puppet, comes from the Yucong rematch, not from this fight.
The phases above are the ones shown in official footage, named by their on-screen name bars. Tells, punish windows and health thresholds are added only once the retail fight has been checked; we do not invent them from trailer cuts.
