Privacy policy

The short version

The site has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no comments and no analytics scripts, and it does not set its own cookies or store anything in your browser. It does load services run by other companies: Cloudflare delivers the pages, Google provides the fonts and, through Google AdSense, the advertising, and YouTube plays the embedded trailers. Google's advertising service uses cookies, as explained below.

Hosting and delivery: Cloudflare

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data about each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Fonts: Google Fonts

The site's typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests the font files from Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser details. See Google's privacy policy.

Embedded videos: YouTube

The trailers page embeds official videos from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Loading that page contacts YouTube's servers, and when you play a video, YouTube, a Google service, may collect data and set cookies under Google's privacy policy. Gameplay clips elsewhere on the site are hosted by us and do not contact YouTube.

Email

If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply and to act on your correction or request, and we do not add you to any list. Mail sent to phantomblade.guide addresses is forwarded to our inbox through Cloudflare Email Routing.

Advertising: Google AdSense

The site uses Google AdSense for advertising, and every page loads Google's ad script. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of some other vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info. If you opt out, you may still see ads, but they will not be based on your browsing. Ads are kept separate from the guide content, and advertisers have no say over what the site publishes.

Affiliate links

Some store links on the editions and prices page are affiliate links, each labelled "Affiliate link" where it appears. At the moment that means Green Man Gaming, through the Impact affiliate network. If you buy after clicking one, the site earns a small commission at no extra cost to you. To attribute the sale, Impact sets a cookie in your browser when you click the link; see Impact's privacy policy. Links to Steam, the Epic Games Store, the PlayStation Store and Fanatical are ordinary links. Commission never changes which stores we list, the prices we show or which one we mark lowest.

Links to other sites

Pages link to their sources and to stores. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you leave this site.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
