What is on record
One of the four hidden Acolytes of the tale Secrets at the Heart of the Lake, reached through a talisman scarecrow in the Village of Lu and fought in a ring of fire: fireball volleys that can be blocked back at her, diving clones, a flamethrower and fire that lingers on the ground. Drops Yanru's Blazing Mask.
Who she is
Acolyte Yanru is an optional boss of the Village of Lu, one of the four hidden Acolytes of the tale Secrets at the Heart of the Lake, the same tale that leads to Dusk, the Puppeteer. The others are Acolyte Lei Ting, Acolyte Guhe and the Acolyte Hansui who fights beside the Puppet Scavenger. KeenGamer places her scarecrow below the Terraces; Fextralife says at the Engine Giant Remains, east of the Terraces bell, where the scarecrow is used with the talisman to teleport into a burning arena. Game8 files her under the Maskwalkers. The reward is Yanru's Blazing Mask, one of four Acolyte masks. There is no trophy for her alone.
What the footage shows
PowerPyx's capture (Oct 29, 2026) opens on the Village of Lu map at 64% completion with the tale prompt "Secrets at the Heart of the Lake: Find the scarecrows bearing a talisman and defeat the hidden Acolytes". At 0:10 Soul stands before a scarecrow draped in pink rags with a talisman on its chest, under red lanterns beside a twisted tree. At 0:20 a subtitle labelled Elder's Command reads, "Acolyte... Yanru, heed my command!", and at 0:25 one labelled Fervent Female Voice answers over a silhouette, "Most holy, most virtuous, supreme Master... Yanru obeys!" At 0:30 the arena is a bare circle of earth ringed by walls of flame under an orange sky. The name bar "Acolyte Yanru" is on screen from 0:35 to about 2:20. Small fires burn on the ground at 0:45; at 0:55 she rises into the air; at 1:00 a column of fire; at 1:40 a sheet of flame; at 1:45 she hovers above the ring; at 2:10 a pink blast. At 2:30 the tale counter reads "defeat the hidden Acolytes (1/4)", and at 2:35 Soul is back at the scarecrow.
Attacks and how the guides handle them
Game8: fireball volleys from range, which can be blocked to deflect them back and drain her Sha-Chi; fireballs summoned at your position, interrupted by melee or Flying Daggers; diving clones and fireballs while she flies, which should be dodged rather than blocked because they leave burning patches you cannot step out of while blocking; and a flamethrower at melee range, preceded by a spin in place, avoided by moving sideways and punished because she stands still until it ends. Game8 recommends the Flameward accessory, which it says halves her fire damage.
Fextralife names Flame Mines (floating orbs that explode as you approach; walk in and dodge late), Rapid Fireball (block or deflect, though deflecting does not reflect damage), Rain of Flames (she flies over, sends diving illusions, then fires large fireballs in lines while moving sideways; keep moving laterally), FlameBlast (a large fireball from above; dodge to either side of its landing), the Flamethrower (slow tracking; close in and attack) and Eruption (lava in an area with damage over time; dodge the burst, then press on). Burning is her main threat, and her melee openings come during the flamethrower.
Drops
Yanru's Blazing Mask, one of the four Acolyte masks (KeenGamer, Game8). Not on this site's weapons page.
The phases above are the ones shown in official footage, named by their on-screen name bars. Tells, punish windows and health thresholds are added only once the retail fight has been checked; we do not invent them from trailer cuts.
