What is on record

The second master of the Heartless Remnants quest, a monk puppet who seals himself in a golden bell and summons three Fist Bronze Men whose bronze skin shrugs off flinches; between bells he fights with palms, a straight-line projectile and an unblockable red-glint shout. Drops the Kuye Temple Prayer Beads.

Who he is

Master Bi Hai of Kuye Temple is a main boss of the Village of Lu in the chapter Heartless Remnant, the second of the three masters. Game8 files him under the Masters and places him beyond the Smuggler's Tunnel; Fextralife calls him a monk puppet possessed by the Herald who has taken over the tunnel, past the Wounded Thief, and says he must be beaten to reach Pangzhen. KeenGamer puts the arena near the river and notes that the win clears the second thread seal on the well. The reward is the Kuye Temple Prayer Beads, a Phantom Edge that summons monk allies. There is no trophy.

What the footage shows

PowerPyx's capture (Oct 29, 2026) opens on the Village of Lu map at the Smuggler's Tunnel Entrance, 34% complete, with the Heartless Remnants prompt. At 0:10 a subtitle labelled Serene Monk reads, "My body is but a withered shell. My worldly ties have ended... No need for guilt. End me!", and the name bar "Master Bi Hai of Kuye Temple" appears; at 0:20 he says, "Blessings, blessings." The arena is a muddy yard by the river under timber scaffolds, with red threads strung above. He is a bald monk in orange robes with a staff; at 0:30 red threads lash from him, and at 0:50 he says, "Amitabha."

At 1:05 he calls, "Bronze men formation, arise! Golden bodies, subdue evil!": a tall golden bell drops over him and three golden-skinned monks with staves come at Soul (1:00 to 1:40). At 1:50 he repeats the call and the bell returns until about 2:20. At 1:40 a teal arc sweeps past the bell. The name bar is gone after about 2:25, and at 2:45 the Kuye Temple Prayer Beads are picked up, with Summon Health 1236 and Summon Damage 128: "An ancient string of prayer beads left behind by Master Bi Hai of Kuye Temple. Unadorned, yet bearing the weight of countless years. When invoked, it summons the long departed disciples of Kuye Temple to fight by your side. In areas dense with Sha-Chi (when the icon emits a special glow), press to summon 3 Fist Bronze Men. They fight for up to 15 seconds and disappear early if defeated. Summons cannot stack."

Attacks and how the guides handle them

Game8 names no attacks but gives two rules. Against his unblockable red-glint shout, delay the dodge slightly, because the hitbox starts a moment after the flash; an early dodge can be chained into a second one, since the shout has several active frames. Against the three Fist Bronze Men, whose bronze skin stops flinching and damage, use weapons and moves with high Guard Break, and keep repositioning so you are not surrounded. Its description adds that the golden qi bell shields him from blades, fire and water while the Bronze Men attack.

Fextralife names the Tempest Bell (defeat the summoned monks to break the bell, then dodge the blast; kill the last monk from range), the Flying Palm (a slow rise, then two palm strikes; dodge), the Ethereal Fist (a sideways leap and a straight-line projectile; dodge laterally), the Knockback Strike (fists together and a close-range strike that knocks you back even on block; dodge sideways after the wind-up) and Lethal Concentration (light from his head with a red flash; counter it to open him up). Most of his attacks are linear, so lateral dodges work, and interrupting him with your own attacks staggers him.

Drops

The Kuye Temple Prayer Beads, a summoning Phantom Edge (on-screen pickup; KeenGamer, Game8). Its item card is on screen at 2:44 in PowerPyx's capture.

Phase notes

The phases above are the ones shown in official footage, named by their on-screen name bars. Tells, punish windows and health thresholds are added only once the retail fight has been checked; we do not invent them from trailer cuts.
