What is on record

A spearman of Pangzhen who calls lightning: parryable dashes and counters, unblockable thrusts, rushes and a lightning slam on foot; then a mounted second phase with a blinding mule kick, leaping slashes and a horse slam that calls a strike. Drops the Thunder Spear Phantom Edge.

Who he is

Chang Hong, the Thunder Spear, is a main boss of Pangzhen in the chapter The Heart's Trail, fought in the Ancestral Shrine Square (KeenGamer, AllThingsHow). Game8 files him under the Masters. KeenGamer's boss list already notes that he is mounted in phase two; AllThingsHow gives the second name as Chang Hong, the Thunder Lancer, which matches the footage. The reward is the Thunder Spear Phantom Edge, lightning and paralysis per KeenGamer. There is no trophy.

What the footage shows

PowerPyx's capture (Oct 29, 2026) opens on the Pangzhen map at the Ancestral Shrine Square, 31% complete, with the quest prompt "The Heart's Trail: Visit Yu'er's home in the backstreets of Pangzhen". At 0:10 a spearman in red and dark armour stands in a ruined square of grey stone and broken walls; at 0:15 he says, "Let's see you handle this!", and the name bar "Chang Hong, the Thunder Spear" appears. At 0:40 lightning runs along his spear, at 1:00 a teal arc marks a parry, at 1:10 he leaps with lightning around him. The first bar is gone by about 2:00.

At 2:05 the camera closes on his armoured back, and at 2:10 he sits an armoured horse. From 2:20 the name bar reads "Chang Hong, the Thunder Lancer" and the fight continues in the same square: at 2:30 the horse's armoured flank fills the frame, at 2:45 a cloud of dust, at 3:05 a white flash across the square, at 3:20 lightning on the spear again and at 3:35 a red burst. At 3:45 he says, "Neither of us has a choice anymore!" The second bar is empty by about 4:05, and at 4:10 a subtitle from Soul reads, "He hardly seemed defeated... was this a test? Does Chang Hong serve more than just the Order?"

Attacks and how Game8 handles them

On foot Game8 names the Spear Dash (a leap and dash; time a block for a perfect parry and a Ghoststep counter), a Counter he throws from a defensive stance when pressured (parryable), the Spin to Spear Thrust (a short spin into a red-glint thrust, unblockable), the Spear Rush (a forward rush ending in an unblockable wide sweep) and the Lightning Slam (he gathers lightning, leaps and slams the spear onto your position, unblockable). Lightning strikes join his strings as his health drops.

On horseback: the Mule Kick, a horse kick that deals heavy damage and blinds you, triggered only when you stand directly behind the horse, which sometimes turns first as a warning; the Thrust-Slam Combo (a thrust while leaping forward, then a vault into a parryable slam); a Leap Slash or Thrust as the horse jumps (parryable); the Horse Slam (the horse rears and stamps down, calling a lightning strike, unblockable); and the Spin to Slash (an unblockable sweep to the horse's right). He can chain two of the heavy moves in a row. Game8's advice is to stay out from behind the horse and to be careful of chained attacks.

Drops

The Thunder Spear Phantom Edge (KeenGamer, Game8). AllThingsHow quotes its description, "draws lightning from all directions, channeling it into thunderous force", and lists Damage 450 and Status Effects 360 at pickup; the item card in PowerPyx's capture (4:17) reads Damage 450 and Guard Break 360.

Phase notes

The phases above are the ones shown in official footage, named by their on-screen name bars. Tells, punish windows and health thresholds are added only once the retail fight has been checked; we do not invent them from trailer cuts.
