What is on record

A woman in white who sings by a dry well in Pangzhen and fights with blade-like sleeves and Phantom Arts that plunge the arena into darkness; each dark phase ends in an unblockable attack or a purple fireball that can be parried back at her. Two unblockable grabs. Drops the Fanatic's Fragment: Fixation.

Who she is

Gu Wanyue, the Wailing Wraith, is a main boss of Pangzhen in the chapter The Heart's Trail, near the Pond of Fading Song (KeenGamer). Game8 files her under the Maskwalkers. Critical Hits describes her as a slender woman in white robes singing beside a dry well, whose sleeves cut like blades and whose Phantom Arts trap the player in darkness. The reward is a key item, the Fanatic's Fragment: Fixation, one of the Fanatic's Fragments that also come from Yan Qiansui. There is no trophy.

What the footage shows

PowerPyx's capture (Oct 29, 2026) opens on the Pangzhen map at the Pond of Fading Song, 22% complete. At 0:10 a cutscene shows a woman with long black hair hanging over her face, in white robes with grey fringed shoulders, under the subtitle label Woman by the Well: "Ripples within the well's dark deep... 'Tis Wei calling me to leap." At 0:20 the arena is a weedy yard between timber houses, white streamers hanging from a frame, a bed of red flowers at the far side and paper coins drifting in the air. The name bar "Gu Wanyue, the Wailing Wraith" is on screen from 0:25 to about 2:15. At 0:30 a pale ring of light spreads from her; at 1:00 a purple light flares beside her; at 1:10 red threads lash from her sleeves; from 1:20 to 1:30 and again at 1:55 the screen goes almost black with only the coins and a dim figure visible, Game8's darkness phase; at 2:10 she swings in close. At 2:25 the Fanatic's Fragment: Fixation is picked up, a Soul Tempering material whose text reads, "A fragment born of a hopeless wait. That longing had taken root in the very marrow, spreading through the bones even after the flesh had rotted away."

Attacks and how the guides handle them

Game8 and Critical Hits describe the same set. Each darkness phase ends with either an unblockable attack or a powerful purple fireball: keep your distance and watch for the cues, a laugh before the fireball, visual warnings before the charge. The fireball is heavily telegraphed and a perfect parry sends it back, dealing damage and a burn. Two grabs are unblockable and must be dodged: the Flying Sweep, used while she is airborne or after a leap, and the Handstand Grab, which follows a half backflip onto her hands and a red glint. Her arm-swing flurry should be parried rather than fled, because parrying drains a large piece of her guard, and its final hit flashes blue for a perfect parry and a Ghoststep counter.

Drops

The Fanatic's Fragment: Fixation, a Soul Tempering material (on-screen pickup; KeenGamer calls it a key item). Not on this site's weapons page.

Phase notes

The phases above are the ones shown in official footage, named by their on-screen name bars. Tells, punish windows and health thresholds are added only once the retail fight has been checked; we do not invent them from trailer cuts.
