What is on record

An optional boss of the Mandate Encampment, fought on the tiled temple roof reached by ladders from the Dovecote bell: a swordswoman in red who leaps between the roof ridges and closes with fast sword strikes and kicks, with red-flash unblockable attacks. Beating her drops no item (66,000 Remnant Dust in PowerPyx's capture); PowerPyx's collectibles guide says to spare her, because if she lives she joins the Chief Disciple's second phase and that duo fight yields two missable collectibles.

In the retail game

Red Wraith was the second boss of the 2025 demo level; Japanese coverage names her 紅の女剣士, "the red swordswoman", and the Chinese name used by players is 红衣女剑客, the same idea. In the retail game her name bar reads "Red, the Mysterious Swordswoman" and she is an optional boss of the Mandate Encampment, fought on the tiled roof of a temple hall above the Dovecote bell (PowerPyx, Oct 29, 2026). The fight belongs to the tale Daughter of the Dark Sect (KeenGamer, Oct 30, 2026), which PowerPyx's collectibles guide lists as #26 for the region, started by talking to a woman near the Dovecote bell. Nothing official has been published about her role in the story.

The demo's twist survives into the retail game. PowerPyx's guide says in capitals not to defeat her on the roof but to swing across the chain and move on: if she lives, she joins the Chief Disciple of the Seven-Stars Formation halfway through that fight's second phase, and the duo fight yields two missable collectibles, a Memory Flower and a Twin Fish Pendant, which she will not drop if she was beaten earlier. In PowerPyx's own boss capture she is beaten, says "I shall be waiting for you..." over the finisher and is simply gone from the roof; what that does to the tale is not on record here.

Ben-Gun's capture also shows what happens if you beat her. The Chief Disciple fight follows at once: "Chief Disciple of the Seven-Stars Formation" from 2:51:56 to 2:54:54, then "Chief Disciple, Sword of Despair" from 2:55:31 to 2:58:51, and in that second phase only his own name bar is on screen. Red does not join, which matches PowerPyx's warning.

No item (KeenGamer and Beebom list her reward as none; nothing is picked up in PowerPyx's capture). The counter shows 66,000 Remnant Dust for the kill. The two missable collectibles tied to her, a Memory Flower and a Twin Fish Pendant, come from the Chief Disciple fight only if she was spared (PowerPyx, Oct 29, 2026).

What the retail fight looks like

PowerPyx's capture (Oct 29, 2026) opens on the Mandate Encampment map at the Dovecote bell, 34% complete. At 0:02 Soul stands in a yard before a timber hall with tall double doors, goes in at 0:06, and at 0:08 the interior is dark with red light and a ladder; the climb from 0:12 goes up past wooden beams and platforms, and at 0:20 the camera reaches the curved tiled roof of the hall, the demo's rooftop, high above a hazy valley full of circling birds. Red stands on the finial at the top of the roof (0:20 to 0:24, a silhouette against the sky at 0:24) and leaps down to open the fight; the name bar is on screen from 0:26.

The fight is the demo's fight. She leaps between the roof ridges and presses in with sword strikes and kicks; a blue glint at 0:28 marks a parry, her red flashes come at 0:46, 0:56 and 1:36, Soul's green Phantom Edge sweeps follow at 1:00 to 1:06, and she is knocked flat at 1:10. At 0:38 Soul says, "She's holding back... her blade's not aimed at me, only driven wild by the surge of Sha-Chi." At 1:14: "Do I force my way through her... or slip past and keep moving." At 1:38 the finisher lands with the character 斩 across the screen and Red's only line, "I shall be waiting for you..."; at 1:40 Soul is alone on the roof below the finial, and the Remnant Dust counter has gone from 835,134 to 901,134.

Ben-Gun's full playthrough (PS5, Oct 30, 2026) reaches the roof straight after Wan Jun "Coppermaul": the Bashpole card is on screen at 2:49:42, Soul climbs the ladders up the side of the hall, and from 2:49:46 the camera holds on Red standing on the roof finial, sword lowered, birds circling and the sun low in a hazy sky. Her name bar is on screen from 2:49:51 to 2:51:20, Soul's two lines come at 2:50:05 and 2:50:39, and at 2:51:20, just before the finisher, she stands square to Soul on the roof, hood up and face masked, one arm thrown wide (this page's banner); "I shall be waiting for you..." follows at 2:51:21, the same outcome as PowerPyx's capture.

Attacks

Not on record for the retail build. No English guide published by Nov 2, 2026 lists her attacks or counters; PowerPyx's guide only says to spare her. What is on record: Famitsu's TGS 2025 description below (fast, kung-fu-like movement with sword and leg techniques) and the retail footage, which shows leaps between the roof ridges, red-flash attacks at 0:46, 0:56 and 1:36, and a parry window at 0:28. This site does not invent tells from footage.

Before launch

In S-GAME's 2025 demo walkthrough (kwVgxmwgkfI) her name bar appears at 15:32 as Soul reaches the curved tiled roof of a temple hall high above a mountain valley. She fights on the roof ridges, leaping between them (15:36) and closing with fast sword strikes and kicks; a red flash at 15:48 marks an unblockable attack. Twice (15:54 and 16:08) her name bar turns orange, the game's stagger state, and at 16:10 the walkthrough leaves the rooftop with Soul moving on.

She returns in the finale. From 19:57 a second name bar reading Red Wraith sits beside "Chief Disciple's Fallen Hope" on screen, and from 20:01 she fights alongside the Chief Disciple until the fight ends at 21:56.

Famitsu's TGS 2025 report explains why she appears twice: the writer was encouraged by S-GAME staff to move on without finishing her, and found her waiting as a second enemy in the Chief Disciple's second phase, "a surprise I did not want". The same report describes her fighting style as fast, kung-fu-like movement with a sword and leg techniques. GamingBolt calls her "an agile combatant who leaps all over the place". PowerPyx's retail collectibles guide confirms the same branch: spare her and she joins the Chief Disciple's second phase.

Phase notes

One name bar for the whole fight in PowerPyx's capture (0:26 to about 1:38) and Ben-Gun's (2:49:51 to 2:51:20). The finisher does not kill her: her line "I shall be waiting for you..." plays over it and she is gone from the roof. We have not measured health thresholds.
